Sooho SON is the Founder of SON & PARTNERS and is widely recognized for delivering practical, results-oriented legal counsel to both domestic and multinational companies. Over the years, he has advised corporate clients from the United States, Canada, Japan, China, Hong Kong, Vietnam, Cambodia, and other jurisdictions, gaining extensive cross-border experience. He has authored numerous publications on commercial, criminal, and sports law, many of which have been featured by the Seoul Bar Association and various law reviews. His career includes significant achievements across complex, high-profile cases, earning him a reputation as a trusted and effective advocate.
Academic Background and Qualifications
In 2022, he was awarded the Doctor of Laws (LL.D.) degree with a specialization in commercial law from Korea University, based on extensive hands-on experience in the shipping and shipbuilding industry. He also holds a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B., 2006) and a Juris Doctor (J.D., 2012) from Korea University. In addition, he has served as a researcher at the Korea University Maritime Law Center and as a representative for the Korean Bar Association.
Expertise in Commercial, Corporate, and Sports Law
Currently, he serves as a Regulation Examiner for the Korean Sports & Olympic Committee (KSOC) and has handled numerous significant sports law matters. These include facilitating the Korean entry of Jesse Lingard, former England national football team player, and providing legal counsel for professional football clubs such as Incheon United FC in the K League. He also acts as legal counsel to SK Telecom—Korea’s leading mobile carrier—and many other companies, advising on a broad range of commercial and corporate legal issues.
